Angels—their actions, words, and whereabouts—find their way into many choral works, with the help of inspired poets and composers. Canticum presents a rich programme of virtuosic choral music inspired by angels, with works from the 20th century and beyond by John Tavener, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Christopher Willcock, Eric Whitacre, Graham Lack (the Australian premiere of his Sanctus) and Schönberg's iconic Friede auf Erden.
This concert is held in collaboration with the series Music at St Mary's 2008.
