- Tomàs Luis de Victoria: Requiem
"Stirring, soulful, sonorous" are words which describe the artistic fruits of the Spanish Renaissance, and indeed, the music of Tomàs Luis de Victoria. The magnificent Officium Defunctorum (better known as the 'Requiem') was composed late in the Victoria’s life…a crowning jewel of this era. Although it is 400 years since this great composer died, his music resonates strongly to this day, providing the listener with solace, comfort and inspiration.
