This spellbinding and expressive work for choir and string orchestra conveys Christ’s final utterances, combined with other liturgical texts. MacMillan (b. 1959) is considered the pre-eminent Scottish composer of his generation. This will be complemented by selected movements from Lamentations of Jeremiah by Thomas Tallis. |
